This is a simple trick I discovered while configuring nagios for a client. This trick will enable you to place important information within the host page without making the user having to go to an external notes page. This is pretty straight forward and easy to use.

1. Add a “notes” reference to the host definition.
2. Place HTML tags within the description. Remember, nagios views the “notes” section as plain text; however the information is interpreted within a web browser.
3. Save your changes.

Pretty simple and neat trick to keep information together.
